Year 11 Progress Evening
On Wednesday 16th January, you are invited to join us for Year 11’s second Progress Evening to hear about the crucial progress your child has made in terms of their character, behaviour and academic progress. On the evening, you will receive their mock exam results and discuss the steps required to improve progress in their GCSE exam performance.
Parents’ Evenings are an incredibly important part of your child’s journey through school. You will be given the opportunity to discuss the outcome with staff so that you feel fully informed on how to support your child up until their final exams. We understand that this can be a stressful time for families so we aim to give you as much guidance with this as possible. We will also inform you about the challenges that lie ahead in what is their most important year in school and ways to support your child with revision at home. You will be given:
* mock results
* current ranking (which shows how they are approaching their Year 11 studies);
* revision material and information on how to best prepare for the real exams.
* revision timetable
Additionally, an important feature of the evening will also be the attendance of the Senior Leadership and Sixth Form Team who will be interviewing students regarding the choices for college, apprenticeships or Sixth Form.
To maximise your experience at this Progress Evening, I would encourage you to look through your child’s school books beforehand and make a note of any questions you might have for our teachers when you meet them. Students will need to bring their planner with their new progress card inside to record targets and actions set out by their teachers.
Your attendance at these events is absolutely crucial. There is a wealth of evidence which highlights the vast, positive impact parental support has on student achievement.
We look forward to seeing you.
