Gold Seagull

At JRCS we believe in recognising excellence. Around our school some students wear specially modified uniforms which feature a gold seagull. These students are ambassadors for our school and embody the principles of ACHIEVE. Below, read how you can achieve the ‘Gold Seagull’ and look at the list of students who have achieved it – we are very proud of them.

Uniform is an important part of belonging to JRCS and we have high expectations of all our students. Our uniform promotes a positive image and supports the ethos of the school whilst reflecting the practical needs of the students.

Our catering and lunchtime staff provide a wide range healthy, nutritious and balanced meals and snacks.

Extra Curricular (OSHL)

Having been awarded ‘Emerged’ status in July 2013 from the organisation ‘Quality in Study Support’ in July 2016, Jo Richardson went on to achieve Established in recognition of the continueing and imoproved high quality of out of school learning on offer.

Duke of Edinburgh

The Award Scheme is rated by employers organisations as the best non-academic qualification available, to young people . It challenges young people throughout the world aged 14-24, to volunteer and serve others, acquire new skills, be physically active and experience adventure

ACHIEVE Days

As part of our commitment to ‘Success For All’ at JRCS, we firmly believe extra-curricular activities play an important role in the life of a school. We are therefore delighted that we have been able to organise a range of visits and activities full of exciting and unusual opportunities to broaden the horizons of all of our students.

Library

The School Library is a hub for students, based centrally within the school and all students automatically become members of the library when they first join the school.

Enterprise and Careers

Our school motto is “Success for all” and we want every JRCS student to leave us with the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure their future economic wellbeing. We focus on providing opportunities to encourage students out of their comfort zone in order for them to engage fully with all opportunities.
