Hello students and families – Welcome to Jo Richardson Community School and welcome to Year 7!
Year 7 is an exciting and crucial time for all our students, and I am confident that you will be able to find success and thrive as individuals here. My name is Ms Draisey and as well as being a Psychology teacher at Jo Richardson, I will be your Head of Year when you join us in September. I also hold the whole school role as Senior Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead which makes me highly aware to how scary this transition can feel. However, we are here to help you feel settled, confident and ensure that you know you belong here with us at JRCS.
I have been at JRCS for 10 years and have been Head of Year for 7 of those years; this has allowed me to see three-year groups through their final stage in year 11. Consequently, I know what it takes to get from day 1 in year 7 to that final celebration assembly in year 11 and I am here to ensure all students in my care get there.
Alongside our school values of ACHIEVE I firmly believe in three simple statements that will support us to transition and thrive at JRCS. Work Hard. Be Kind. Take Opportunities. These simple, yet important, statements will shape my expectations for our incoming students. After all, without this we cannot have Success for All.
We know that you might have many questions about life at Jo Richardson, so we have attached a list of key links and resources to help prepare yourself for the journey ahead.
