The Sixth Form team will encourage you to get involved with as many activities outside of school as possible to help you make more informed choices in year 13 regarding your path for when you eventually leave us.
Whether you are set on going to university or not, our dedicated staff will find a diverse range of opportunities for you to get involved with. In an ever-competitive jobs market, it is vital to set yourself apart and by showing you are keen to involve yourself with extra activities on your university/job applications, you will do just that. There is usually some form of funding available to help you get where you need to go

Funding
Colin Pond Fund
There is a fund which gives grants to students who have something that they would like to do. It could pay for, for example, a sports coaching course, first aid training or travel expenses for work experience. Any project that will help you in your future career is a possibility. You can apply as an individual or a group.
See Mrs Evans.
Jack Petchey Fund
This is similar to Colin Pond – applications are online.
It is based around providing individual grants for volunteering. “The Jack Petchey Foundation wants to support young people who volunteer their free time to help others in need.”
The purpose of this fund is to give you the opportunity to achieve more out of life and we want to encourage you to take on new challenges and develop your personal and social skills through volunteering.
Bibi Husseinbor received a grant and told us “I would recommend this (volunteering) to anyone, it has certainly been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!”
So, if you are planning a volunteer project in your local community or abroad and need financial assistance with the cost this could be a source to try.”
The Jack Petchey application form can be found on their web site.
