At JRCS, we take every opportunity to champion the power of words. As a school, we are a very literacy-rich community. We believe in the absolute importance of reading, writing and oracy; these skills underpin our approach to teaching and learning both inside and out of the classroom, across all subject areas.
Powerful Words
Our ‘Power of Words’ activity opens up a range of opportunities for all students to develop their literacy skills. From the most able to those who join us needing extra support with their literacy, we believe that every student has the right to leave JRCS equipped with the necessary literacy skills to thrive, both in their academic careers and in life beyond secondary school.
