28 May DofE Expeditions are back!
It was soooo good last Saturday morning to head out at last from school with a group of students to do some training for Bronze DofE. After 20 months of no expedition work, it felt like it was about time! This was a training day for the Year 10 Bronze group who have been working all year so far via online courses as well as face to face training more recently to prepare for their expedition. Following Friday’s stormy weather, we were fearing the worst but the weather turned out to be mostly dry, if a little cold. New boots got well and truly broken in and caked in mud as the going was rather heavy underfoot due to all the recent rain. The students however were not daunted and managed to complete the route through the countryside around Enfield starting at Forty Hall and finishing at Trent Country Park.
The group were a pleasure to be with and hopefully took full advantage of the excellent support that they received from the staff on this trip, Miss Matin, Miss Islam and Mr Hargreaves. A huge thank you to these staff for giving up their Saturday to help these students. The students involved were Ella, Frankie, Lucy, Tara, Oyin, Danny, Treasure, Trisha, Luka and Aliena. We wish them all the very best with completing their qualifying expedition on 2nd and 3rd July.
