Silver success on the Isle of Wight
During the final week of the Summer term six students from Year 11 took part in their qualifying expedition for the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award. They took on a trek across the Isle of Wight starting near Cowes and finishing at the spectacular Tennyson monument. They worked very hard as a team to overcome the challenge of the trek and some hot, windy, and sometimes damp weather on the island. Well done to all six students for their good humour and commitment to completing the expedition. The students were: Jodie Chesney, Teri Keenan, Lucy Whyte, Georgina Hart, Jyotika Ahtty and Charlotte Pearson. Thanks go to Mr Hargreaves who assessed the group and Jess Gillet (formerly of Trewern) who acted as Georgina’s personal assistant.
