11 Mar Go Figure Rock Club & Go Figure Tutor Time
Go Figure
About two weeks ago, Key Stage 3 participated in an event called Rock Club. They were involved in planning and designing their very own rock concert and will be given the opportunity to attend a concert at Wembley Arena later this year.
Guste Rudzinskaite, 9G gave us an insight to the event: “Our team enjoyed participating in the creation of the concert stage. It was a fun opportunity where all of our team was involved. There were many things we successfully completed. These included the lighting plan, calculating the profit and the cost, building the stage, designing tickets and t-shirts and advertising our concert. Most importantly, these activities all required strong teamwork, co-operation and communication. Listening to everybody’s different ideas gave us the ability to effectively improve our work. Co-operation and communication helped us a lot when we were presenting our work to the rest of the groups. Everyone in our group contributed very well and positively, which made the project enjoyable”.
Our second tutor time activity was based on this riddle:
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt, cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills, and empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after, ends life, kills laughter.
Students were asked to guess what the answer was and points were awarded to the following forms for remarkable justification and reasoning of their answers.
Uhlan Jordaan, Logan McKenzie, Abigail Olatunji and Stella Obareti – 7J
Yasmine Large, Paige Millington, Jayden Allen, Taylor Jefferson and
Sami Deriouch – 8D
Esther Aluko, Samual Clark, Ahlam Ali and Seth Carter – 9B
The answer is DARKNESS!
