05 Mar (Im)possible Works Performance
A selection of our students were recently involved in a project called ‘(Im)possible Works’ run by the Barbican Learning Centre. They worked in collaboration with students from Barking Abbey and Eastbury to put together a couple of creative pieces for a performance as part of the ‘Changing Dialogue’ series.
They performed on Wednesday evening at Chat’s Palace in Hackney, a very different venue to the type our students are used to performing in. They all performed incredibly well and enjoyed the experience of seeing the audience dancing to their own pieces. We then stayed to listen to a band made up of Guildhall students (some of which had assisted the school group performance) where they played a number of funky pieces including plenty of improvisation as well as spoken word. All in all, it was a fantastic experience for all involved. We would like to thank our students for the commitment and hard work shown throughout the project. They had a series of after school rehearsals at other schools and represented JRCS very well.
Students involved were as follows:
Charlie Mould 12D, Sam Clarke 10A, Ibukun Silva Ope 10F, Gerren Ntiri 10G, Shanise Garner 10H, James Kiely 9A, Ayaan Chida 9B, Libby Jones 9D and Jonjoe Mould 9G.
