A number of KS4 and KS5 students visited Sadler’s’ Wells Theatre before half-term and had the opportunity to be part of celebrating the theatre’s 20th year. After the triple bill of three diverse dance performances the dancers and choreographers entered the stage as confetti scattered from the roof and everyone in the auditorium got up on their feet dancing.
A number of students in Years 9, 10 and 13 took place in a Dance Careers Day along with a number of other schools in the Borough. Students’ were able to experience technique classes and creative workshops in a professional environment from teachers at world famous dance school Laban and The Place. The students were able to learn about the many routes that they can take in dance education and understand the huge number of jobs that further education in dance can offer you.
JRCS Wings Dance Academy had their first performance this week in the Black History Month Assemblies. The students performed a piece that was based around the struggles and torture that occurred during slavery. Well done Wings and excellent first performance.
