06 Dec JRCS Environmental Action Group Activities
On Thursday 28th November, JRCS Environmental Action Group joined students around the world by doing a week of activities to raise awareness about environmental issues.
All week students campaigned on Main Street, collecting signatures to introduce a recycling scheme to the school and asking their peers and staff to make a pledge to change one thing in their lives to be greener.
The zenith of the week was when students did a litter pick in the streets around the school. Students were alarmed at how much litter there was and the realisation it would end up in the earth’s waterways and oceans. They were particularly alarmed that some of the rubbish was from JRCS students! Whilst out and about, students received support from passing motorists who beeped their horns and gave the students an enthusiastic thumbs up.
Well done to the EAG!
