Well done!
JRCS Chess tournament is entering its final stages as players advanced into the quarter finals with a mixture of strategy and nerve.
Several games of the Last 16 pitted chess brains against each other which led to tense encounters and relief when the immortal words of “Checkmate” were finally uttered.
It has been an amazing opportunity to see students from across the year groups go up against each other and show that age is no barrier to success.
Next week sees both the Quarter Finals and Semi-Finals getting played with the final pencilled in for the first week after Easter – unless the semi-finalists suffer a series of stalemates.
All players are to be congratulated for their strategic play and sportsmanship so far.
