19 Apr JRCS Sixth Form
Year 12 students took part in a First Aid Course at the end of last term. Students were taught the theoretical aspects of dealing with emergencies and the protocols to ensure that the casualty and themselves remained as safe as possible. Being given the task to identify what an injury might be and what course of action may be required made the students think about difficult scenarios in the safety of the classroom. To make it more realistic the students were put in practical situations either as the casualty or the first aider. All casualties, I am pleased to report, survived!
Students performed amazingly well during the course and are all now more confident to deliver what might be necessary lifesaving actions.
