Primary Cross Country event a success!
On Wednesday 5th October I had the pleasure of accompanying 24 Year 10 Sports Leaders to Mayesbrook Park where they assisted with the delivery of the Barking and Dagenham Primary Schools Cross Country event. It was an extremely busy afternoon, as paired with students from Barking College, our students helped marshal and officiate 1,000 primary students attending the event.
Claire Clarke, one of the School Sports Partnership Managers who was leading the event said to me afterwards “Your leaders were great and played such a big part in the success of the event overall.” Many congratulations to all who took part, it’s wonderful to get such positive feedback about our students. An LOC for involving themselves in their community is on its way to each and every one of them.
The students involved were: Nasim Ahmed, Shalom Akintujoye, Ellie Ashford, Blayne Baker, Shelize Boochoon, Emily Chrysanthou, Alisha Cordner-Duhaney, Jennifer Dicko, Brandon Filbert, Tasnia Haque, Mohammed Hassan, Megan, Ivey, Morgan Laing, Maisie McGuire, Denise Muyumba, Luke O’Neill, Jayley Powell, Nathan Rehmat, Guste Rudzinskaite, Anmona Siddaqua, Holly Simpson, Billy Smith. Sophie Sprought, Natasha Stopp and Francesca Thompson. Special thanks to Holly, Denise, Luke, Shalom and Jayley, who stayed on at the end and helped with the medal presentations. Also a big thank you to Mr Kersey who helped with transporting the students to Mayesbrook Park.
