09 Nov Literacy Leaders
Well done!
JRCS are extremely proud to have a committed team of Literacy Leaders who carry out important roles throughout the year, such as helping with the organisation of the Right to Write project, creating exciting displays and communicating with different departments across the school about literacy events.
At the beginning of the academic year, students were invited to apply to be Literacy Leaders. Students were asked to write a mini essay explaining why they should be chosen and what skills they wished to share. There was an outstanding number of applicants and also a number of returning Literacy Leaders from last year, helping to build the Literacy team’s strength in numbers. After a brilliant KS3 assembly on the power of words, the lucky candidates were awarded with a badge of recognition and a certificate. KS4 leaders will also be awarded with special lanyards as a thank you for all of their continued hard work and dedication. All of the Literacy Leaders should be extremely proud of their achievements and they are undoubtedly a huge credit to the school.
As always, the Literacy team continue to be open to new volunteers and ideas. We look forward to the exciting opportunities to come!
