02 Dec Little Havens
Making every day count
On 21st of November, Year 12 Health and Social Care students had the opportunity to visit Little Havens Hospice. During our visit we had a tour of the Hospice and an insight into the stories of the young children who have life-limiting conditions.
Little Havens cares for babies, children and teenagers, providing respite, symptom control and end of life care as well as support for the whole family. We had the opportunity to visit the multi-sensory room, dining area, messy and soft play areas and also the children’s rooms and the rooms for the whole family. We were able to appreciate the little things that we take for granted.
We were surprised how calming, lively and uplifting the atmosphere was and how the Hospice had a significant impact on the way we view end of life care. We presented a cheque of over £300 to the Hospice from money raised at JRCS. We hope to continue to fundraise in the future to support the Hospice in developing their care, technology and facilities.
