11 Dec Little Haven’s Article
We are looking forward to completing some fundraising activities for the hospice.
On Monday both Year 12 and Year 13 Health and Social Care classes went to visit Little Havens Hospice. This is a hospice in Benfleet that looks after children aged 1 month to 18 years old who have life changing illnesses or terminal illnesses. The hospice has unique services that tailors to the needs of the children such as a room filled with special lights to calm the patients in time of distress, special equipment tailored to the physical needs of the patients such as having special bath tubs which can be raised and lowered for the height of the children. As visitors with no idea of what it would be like, we were thoroughly surprised by how colourful and unique the hospice could make the rooms for the children, one individuals’ room was specially decorated with cars as they loved the Pixar film Cars. It was an enjoyable and insightful experience for everyone and we are looking forward to completing some fundraising activities for the hospice.
