Live stream to five cities across North America
On Thursday evening 19 of the 64 young people who organised our Walk 4 Water campaign were involved in a live stream to five cities across North America. The work that the students did was picked up by an organisation called WE Movement and a short film was made about how young people engage with social action for change. Our students have always been globally aware of issues such as hunger, poverty, human rights, gender equality and so it came as no surprise that their 6km walk around the Serpentine in London captured global recognition.
On Thursday the students were filmed by a Canadian film crew and were live streamed to 37,000 people in Toronto, New York, Newfoundland and the Bahamas to name a few. The students were raising awareness about the lack of clean water for over 800 million people across the globe and showcasing their organisation and communication skills in planning this walk to highlight the need for this basic human right.
Nothing phased the students and their professionalism and maturity shone through in the filming.
Well done to each and every one of you.
