02 Jul Media GCSE
Year 10 students are creating their coursework pieces for their Media Studies GCSE. They have a choice to make a magazine front cover and article, or a film poster and DVD cover. The students have to take all the images themselves and then use Photoshop, an industry standard piece of software, to edit the layout and design. Enis took advantage of the “studio” created in the classroom for his coursework, a poster and DVD cover for a new action movie. Mr Rutland supported Enis by becoming an action hero for a lesson, being directed by Enis for his photoshoot. Are you ready for your close-up Mr Rutland?
I am very proud of all the Year 10 Media students. After a long time in lock-down learning, it is great to see the students being so engaged and creative. I am also very grateful for the enthusiasm and support Mr Rutland shows his students, as a teacher and as a model! Enis sought help from Ms Chandler and the Drama Department while looking for props and costumes, and from Ms Claydon in Art for the make-up. Enis’ work is a great example of JRCS working together as a community to help students achieve.
