The JRCS Media Studies Department teamed up with the independent London College – DLD – to allow students access to a video conference with Empire editor-at-large Helen O’Hara. Helen has been working at the famous film magazine for over 11 years. She also hosts their podcast and is a freelance journalist. Helen is author of the book “The Best 80s Movies”. Sonia in Year 12 said, “The zoom meeting was really fun! There were around six students including me and we were all really interested! I asked quite a few questions about being a woman critic, the public interest and difficult interview questions. It was really insightful and I’m grateful to have been offered this opportunity!”. JRCS are indebted to John Branney, Assistant Principal at DLD for inviting us.
