19 Jan Panathlon Trials
The third and final trials for the 2018 Barking and Dagenham Borough Panathlon Team took place at Eastbrook School on Monday 15th January.
Eight students from Jo Richardson took part in this trial for the poly bat and table cricket teams. Both games are played on table tennis tables, with small fences around the table edges. Poly bat is a bit like table tennis, and table cricket uses a miniature bat and a ramp for bowling. Runs are scored by hitting certain target around the table ‘fence’.
These students have been practicing their skills at both of these games by attending Panathlon Club. If you would like to find out more about these games as well as Boccia and New Age Kurling, then please come along to Panathlon Club in the Sports Hall on a Wednesday and Friday lunchtime 1:20pm – 2:00pm.
The students involved in this trip were: Harvey Amparbeng 7F, Kale McIntosh 7G, Tristan Filbert 8A, Sophie Wood 8B, Lewis Chilver 8C, Alfie Welch 8C, Lewis Scarff 8G and Josiah Ugowe 9G. Congratulations to them on their brilliant performances and good behaviour, and thanks also to Mr Bashir who also helped with the organisation of the trip on Monday. Watch this space to find out later this term which of our students make the Borough Team!
