26 Apr Planet Hunters with Python Project
Congratulations!
Congratulations to Brandon Bridges in Year 12 who completed the Planet Hunters with Python project with Queen Mary University last week. Students from Years 10 and 12 attended a lecture and introduction session at Queen Mary University on the 15th October and since then Brandon has been working hard using a programming language called Python to write a computer program to detect and analyse data from NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope. He was able to use the data and the program he wrote to find a planet orbiting a star and find out what the planet is like.
Brandon did a fantastic job showing resilience and ambition, overcoming problems with the code as well as producing an excellent academic poster displaying the findings from his project.
