18 Jun Success at Borough Athletics
On Tuesday 15th June 15 Year 7s and Year 8s represented JRCS at the Borough Athletics Championship. The day was highly successful with lots of students achieving a place on the winners’ podium. All students showed fantastic sportsmanship towards each other and other schools and as a result this was the highest scoring Borough competition in the history of JRCS.
Overall results out of 12 schools:
Year 7 girls – 2nd 97 points
Year 7 boys – 4th 86 points
Year 8 Girls – 5th 74 points
Year 8 Boys – 5th 75 points
Individual results:
Year 7
Imran- Discus and 800m 3rd
Joan – Shot 1st place 100m 1st
Anacleto – 1500m 2nd
Ife – Javelin 3rd
Lilyana – 200m 3rd and Long Jump 2nd
Ehijoze – 100m 2nd
Ehizele – 200m- 1st
Girls relay team (Heidy, Joan, Opi & Lilyana) – 1st place
Year 8
Isaac – Discus 3rd
Tyrell – Triple Jump 2nd
Adriana – Long Jump and 200m 3rd
Fatomata – 300m 3rd
As a result of their efforts the following students have been nominated to represent Dagenham and Redbridge at regional competition on the 30th June.
Year 7: Joan, Anacleto, Enhjoze, Ehizele and Lilyana.
Year 8: Tyrell.
Well done to all those who participated. Athletics training for Year 7 and 8 will be continuing every Tuesday and Thursday after school.
