05 Jul The JRCS Apprentice 2024 – Task 3:Provide a Service
Good Job!
Last Friday saw the remaining Apprentice candidates offering up their service to teachers to act as their PA for the day. It gave the students an excellent opportunity to learn what the world of work was like. There was a real buzz about the building as students were kept busy with a variety of tasks from filming, to tidying, to wall displays and admin duties. Luke spent the day in the office where he said he had found his dream job. At the debrief at the end of the day, the students said they had a great day, but they were exhausted and did not realising how difficult teaching can be!.
Staff feedback was overwhelmingly positive and, because the candidates had done such an amazing job, requested they have those students every week. The staff then had to decide on their PA’s value for their day of work and make payment in BTEC Bucks. Some of the candidates’ expectations for pay were very high, with one candidate saying they feel they should be paid £350 for their day’s work.
The winning team was Team Fundz overall.
In a brutal final, the four lowest paid candidates were fired, Nkem, Goodness, Ronnie and Nehan.
Next week we will see the candidates through to the interview stages, followed by live pitches before the finalist is crowned The JRCS Apprentice WINNER 2024.
