Thursday 7th February – ‘Time to Talk Day’
Time to Talk – 7th February
On Thursday 7th February, it is ‘Time to Talk Day’, a national campaign run by the charity Time to Change which aims to end the stigma surrounding mental health.
Next week our Key Stage assemblies will be focused around mental health and wellbeing. On the day itself, there will be a number of events happening in school, including a Pledge Wall in Main Street where students can come and pledge their support in reducing mental health stigma, a Gag in the Garden event being hosted by Mr Kilminster where students are invited to come and tell their best (clean) joke in the Peace Garden at lunchtime and a panel of judges will decide on the best one for a small prize. The idea behind this is that using humour and the outdoors are good ways of promoting good mental health. In DR3, Miss Doshi will be running some relaxation sessions at break and lunch.
We hope lots of students will get involved!
