09 Dec Year 12 EPQ Students
Trip to Westminster University, Regent Campus
On 30th November, the Year 12 EPQ students took a trip to the Regent Campus of Westminster University in London. After suffering an hour and half on the tube, we arrived, to be greeted by four ambassadors who aided us throughout the afternoon, and our supervisor, Jim. After a brief introduction we were given full reign of the literary resources of Westminster University; some of us took to the computers, downloading PDFs to memory sticks and phones. Some of us looked at hard copies of academic journals and books that could support our projects. We were given permission to photocopy any resources that we required to look at once at home and which many people took advantage of.
As the afternoon drew to a close, we were given the opportunity to use one of the lecture halls for a Q&A with the ambassadors on university life, and they gave us a lot of information on what university life is all about.
Overall, the trip helped us in many ways, giving us a general knowledge of how to use a university library, giving us access to resources that will supplement our EPQ course and also giving us information on life at university. It was an incredibly profitable experience.
