16 Jul Year 13 Final Farewell
Farewell Year 13!
Year 13 completed a final farewell week after completing their A levels and BTEC/CTEC courses. Some had already been off for a few weeks; others had a hectic final week of exams – culminating with the final A level exam of Chemistry paper 3 on Friday 20th June.
Monday 23rd June saw many of the students gather in their splendour for the annual Year 13 Leavers’ Boat Party.
The majority of students arrived at JRCS to enjoy the journey to Temple Pier on two traditional double decker buses. Once at the pier we embarked the Golden Sunrise Boat to a complimentary ‘Sunrise’ mocktail.
The evening saw conversation, amazing views of London which changed as the sun set and an ability to chill and reflect on the journey. They indulged in the lovely buffet, went mad in the photo booth and had Ms Keane up on the dance floor (disappearing into a moshing group!!).
It was one of the best boat party events we have had – as they have been all year, the students were amazing, lovely company, courteous and full of fun.
The final group gathering, before results day, saw many come back into school on the Thursday for a game of rounders, the chance to sit and chat (and not be told to get on with work), to enjoy the sun and refresh with some nibbles and ice-pops.
The year group have truly been inspirational in their two year journey. They have worked hard, overcome hurdles, pushed through times that were tougher. They have looked after each other and formed some lasting friendships.
I hope that results day brings them what they deserve and that the future pathways are fulfilling, full of fun and opportunity.
