Friday 20th July
PADI Day 12
Blogger: Lewis G
This morning was the last morning of our stay at the Dock Inn hostel and we had to be checked out by 8 am.Prior to docking out we had to load all of our luggage onto a minivan which had been arranged to transport all of our bags to our new accommodation (the fat rhino hostel) where we are staying for two nights. Once we had ate our breakfast we set off in cabs to the harbour where our instructors greeted us and prepared us for the dive ahead.
Today has been such a successful day for everyone, most of us sat our PADI open water exam & we all passed, qualifying as open water divers 🙂 once we complete our next two dives. We have came across some obstacles but we worked as a team to make sure they didn’t affect the morel.
Each day Is getting better and better, each leader brings a different approach to leading, today Amber showed off her confidence by volunteering as leader. The best moment of my day by far was seeing monkeys in their natural habitat, they were all over the island where we ate lunch, one even stole a woman’s lunch.
We look forward to our last day diving tomorrow, today we have learned most signs needed to communicate under the water, meaning tomorrow we will have a fun dive definitely catching some more nature in action.
Pour evening was spent listening at the karaoke stand below our hostel. Then we had debrief and a quick game of table tennis or darts in the hostel.
Tomorrow sees our last two dives before we move to Sepilok.
