Borneo Day 3
Blogger- Joe M
Today was our first full day in Kota Kinabalu. The whole group was split into three groups of six and each was given a specific task to ensure the whole groups’ accommodation & travel throughout the expedition. Even though every group had a few “bumps” along the road, we all got to our end destination.
After all our adventures we were allowed to explore Kota Kinabalu in groups – personally I slept for an extra two hours!
when people got back they proudly showed off the various trinkets and accessories they bought – the bargains were extraordinary ! Someone almost spent all their ringetts today!! Then we chilled at the hostel before setting out to eat, we made good use of the roof terrace to sit and chat.
We decided as a group to split up for dinner as different people wanted different things.. Some went to the fish market for freshly cooked seafood, others found an Italian and some went for Chinese. We then reconvened back at the hostel, played some games, Chinese Whispers, and discussed the possibility of going to watch the England game (2am kick-off here?). “You can take the kids out of Dagenham but…”
Tomorrow is a 6 o’clock breakfast and then 4 hour transfer to our village project.
Please note we will probably be without internet access for next 5 days – we will continue to write a piece every day but might have to mass publish when we get back here and get WiFi … watch this space!
