14 Jul Jack Petchey – Speak Out Challenge 2023
Well done!
On Tuesday 11th July, thirty Year 10 students were chosen to partake in a workshop with Jack Petchey and Speaker’s Trust Facilitator, Jonathan Drew. The workshop lasted all day and consisted of discussions on the power of oracy, public speaking and communication, culminating in each student performing a two-minute speech with passion and confidence.
Some examples of topics covered were the role of women & gender equality, are sports people paid too much, DJ Khalid, why people bully and toxic masculinity.
Students began the day by ranking their confidence in public speaking and addressing an audience. This ultimately grew through the day and showed flair and talent in delivering their speeches.
A big thank you to those involved for your commitment and creativity!
