Starting at 3.30am in order to get the 6am ferry. We were a bit sluggish but managed to make the ferry.
The ferry was very busy and space a bit cramped on seats with our bags. We were met by a private bus to take us to San Juan arriving at around 8.30am in order to get accommodation. Unfortunately the one we thought we would have was not suitable so an alternative had to be found. Through great budgeting and manipulation of our accountants we managed to book into a 5 star hotel for the night!
We then had then set about having a smoothie at a beach side cafe. After this we made sure we knew the town layout., got credit for the phone, booked the next night’s accommodation, confirmed the surfing and some bought clothing at the market.
once in the rooms we chilled out for a while before feasting on a chicken, rice and beans meal in a Nicaraguan cafe.
One of the highlights was coming back to sleep on a very comfy bed!
