After a 2 hour trek up the volcano we had arrived up the top of Cerro Negro, the view was astonishing and the wind was relentless. Over the valley you could see the lava fumes that had dried up from the last eruption. We got on our suits that were green and yellow. We headed over the lip of the volcano with our boards to get ready to slide down. At first looking down I could feel the adrenaline and fear coursing through my veins. I sat on my board and my legs went stiff, this was it… takeoff! I lifted my ankles and sped down the volcano, it must’ve been about 50 kilometres an hour (at least it felt like that!!) that I was travelling. Controlling the board at this speed with just my ankles was extremely difficult. As I couldn’t tell which way I turned with what foot. Despite this I made it down the volcano without falling over. We enjoyed the time we spent at the volcano Cerro Negro. Overall the day was very fun and enjoyable and everyone had smile on their face even though they was struggling climbing and were very dirty.
